THE housebuyers of the abandoned Kampung Koskan Tambahan Expansion project in Sungai Choh, Rawang, are appealing to the state government to allocate RM3mil to ensure the infrastructure for the project is done.
Kampung Koskan Tambahan Expansion Project Housebuyers Action Committee secretary Jeyaseelan Anthony, and other housebuyers, sent a proposal to Selangor Housing, Building Management and Urban Living Committee chairman Datuk Iskandar Samad at the State Secretariat building in Shah Alam.
“The total cost of building the infrastructure for the abandoned project involving 43 single-storey bungalows is RM3.2mil, including levelling of the land and installing drainage system, water, electricity and road.
In the proposal, Jeyaseelan said the housebuyers were willing to top up RM200,000 for the infrastructure while the substantial sum of RM3mil should come from the state government as it was previously a state project.

“It is the state’s responsibility to provide the funds for infrastructure.
“The housebuyers agreed to fork out additional money from our own pockets to build our houses in the area that could cost between RM70,000 and RM150,000.
“Many of the housebuyers are already in their 60s and 70s, and bought the property here to spend their retirement days. Unfortunately, they are still paying the bank for properties they are unable to occupy.
“After a lengthy discussion with Iskandar, he told us the state government does not have enough funds. He also told us the matter would be brought to the attention of the Mentri Besar,” said Jeyaseelan.
