KUALA LUMPUR: Prima Corporation Malaysia (Prima) has submitted a proposal to a leading renewable energy company, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) expressing their interest in collaborating to enhance sustainability in Prima homes and communities.
The proposal was presented by Prima’s Chief Executive Officer and Member of Corporation Datuk Seri Mohd Nazri Md Shariff to Masdar President Director, Indonesia Fatima Al Madhloum Al Suwaidi during a recent event in Dubai. Also present at the ceremony was Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming and key representatives from Prima and Masdar.
Prima in a statement here said the proposal outlines the intention to explore a collaborative effort, integrating Masdar’s state-of- the-art clean energy technologies into Prima communities and developments.
“Prima and Masdar could explore developing policies and frameworks that harmonise commercial viability with ecological responsibility for the benefit of Malaysians, particularly residents of Prima developments.
“The intended partnership seeks to develop Prima’s capabilities to drive the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and clean energy initiatives in Prima developments and communities. In addition to environmental and social objectives, Prima and Masdar may explore the development of sustainable and economically-viable smart projects focusing on ESG principles,” read the statement.
Nga on the other hand, believed that the proposed partnership between Prima and Masdar is a crucial step step toward realising sustainable homes for communities across Malaysia and he looks forward to the outcomes of this strategic collaboration between Prima and Masdar.
“This is in line with the Madani government’s aspirations, as it encourages innovations in the field of sustainability in order to improve the people’s health and wellness, mobility, economic development, public safety and the overall quality of life,” as quoted in the statement.
Meanwhile Mohd Nazri, in the same statement said the partnership between Prima and Masdar has the potential to shape the future of sustainability, specifically to Prima developments.
“We are excited about the positive impact our collaboration will have on the well-being of Prima communities and residents, as well as how we can integrate these learnings into our future projects such as the Bandar Mini Prima in Teluk Intan,” he added.
